HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 7, 2023) – For the second time in eight months, fire has struck a popular Holland area tourist attraction.
Crews from several departments were dispatched to Nelis’ Dutch Village shortly after 1 AM on Tuesday on a report of flames and smoke coming out of one of the buildings at that site off of James Street and US 31. It took them more than a half hour to bring the blaze under control, with no reported injuries to firefighters or loss of life for any animals housed at the complex. No cause of the fire was immediately determined, nor any dollar estimate of damage caused by the blaze.
Last June 9th, a fire broke out at a petting barn, causing death to some of the animals housed there. It took staff about a week to reopen the attraction.
