ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 17, 2023) – Due to Monday being a legal holiday to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Zeeland City Council has pushed back its biweekly business meeting 24 hours.
It’s the second time in three weeks that holidays have compelled the governing panel of the municipality to do this, after the New Year’s legal holiday on January 2nd. While Council will be voting on a resolution to amend a solar purchase power agreement for the Zeeland BPW, as well as reestablishing a page position at the Howard Miller Library, during the 7 PM business meeting, a matter to be discussed in the work-study session beforehand is an update on a pilot study for reconverting a portion of Centennial Avenue to two-way traffic.
This proposal is something that council has considered before, according to Mayor Kevin Klynstra.
The work-study session is at 6 PM in Council Chambers at Zeeland City Hall (21 S. Elm Street). A link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
