Opal Gambrel, age 89, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Rest Haven Care facility.
Opal was born in Irvine, KY, and grew up in Cleveland, OH, but made Holland, MI her home for the past 50 years. She loved the Lord, her family, and her church more than anything! She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Farris Gambrel; son-in-law, Dale Dewitt; son-in-law, Craig Corpe; and her parents, Harlan and Grace Powell.
She is survived by her daughters; Opal and Steve Bauman (Holland, MI), Darlene Dewitt (Holland, MI), Susan Corpe (Allegan, MI), Jackie Stephenson (Holland, MI); 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Roger Powell (Columbia Station, OH).
Funeral services are at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Rose Park Baptist Church, 600 Butternut Dr. Holland, MI 49424 with Pastor Robert Pophal officiating. Visitation with the family will precede the service starting at 10:00 am.
Interment is to take place in Graafschap Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Opal’s honor may be given to Rose Park Baptist Church.
