Joyce graduated from Zeeland High School and was employed by Holland Furnace, Camfield, Herman Miller, and Royal Atrium Inn. She also worked for Zeeland City & Zeeland Township Voting. She was a member of First Reformed Church of Zeeland.
Joyce was an excellent baker and was well-known for her Scotch-a-roos, fudge, chocolate chip cookies, and Christmas coffee cakes; all of which were shared with many. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, and sewing.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Henry, on Sept 2, 2014, after 60 years of marriage. She was also preceded by her parents and siblings Wilbert (Dorothy)(Evelyn) Kraak, Jane (Ken) Palmer, Ellwood Robart, and two infant siblings: her in-laws, Jane Redder, Tom (Jane) (Angeline) Redder, Alice (George) TenElshof, and Jason Redder.
Joyce is survived by her children, Larry & Carol Redder, Bob & LaNette Redder, Don & Linda Redder, and Lorna & Arlan Walters, all of the Zeeland area. She will be greatly missed by her 24 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, Doug & Michelle Redder (Lilly, Olivia, Freya), Melissa Redder (Austin, Addilynn), Sam Redder; Jackie Redder, Chris Redder, Travis & Julie Redder (Bennett, Brezlynn); Susan & Tyler VanDyk (Tucker, Madeline), Matt & Sara Redder (Kaylee, Mason), Bryan & Becki Redder (Colten, Aliya), Mitchell & Jordan Redder (Elliot, Charley, Hayden); Jonathan & Lisa Walters (Weston, Rhett), Joel & Michelle Walters (Braden, Derek, Natalie), Joshua & Amy Walters (Vanessa, Clayton), Jillyssa & Casey Wesseldyke (Kennedi, and baby due in June). Joyce is also survived by her sister Ruth Robart of Flint, sister-in-law Carolyn Redder of Holland, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 30, at First Reformed Church, 125 East Lincoln Avenue, Zeeland. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 29, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. Interment will be in Zeeland Cemetery.
