HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 20, 2022) – A 19-year-old Zeeland man was critically hurt in a single-vehicle crash into a building on Holland’s North Side late on Monday night.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Keith Biros, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to Douglas Avenue east of Analine Avenue around 11:30 PM. That was where the unnamed, single motorist, driving a luxury vehicle westbound, veered left across the roadway and into a snowbank just off the entrance to the parking lot of the Beechwood Grill restaurant. The BMW then went airborne into the establishment, causing some minor damage to the structure, before coming to rest on its right side.
Rescuers had to be called in to extricate the motorist, who was flown to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment. Biros didn’t say if there were any persons inside of the building at the time of the the crash, which remains under investigation.
