Arthur Elmer Tusch, died on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the age of 89.
He was born at home in Ada, MI on August 5, 1933. Art attended Carl School, a one-room country school. He graduated from Lowell High School and Michigan State University. He served in the Military Police Force with the United States Army.
Art was married to Sheryl Vaughn Yntema on December 19, 1959. He served as a deacon, elder, and Sunday School teacher at Grandville First Reformed Church. He was actively involved with Riverbend Players Theatre. He managed insurance plans for school districts with SET/SEG and in retirement drove for Enterprise Car Rental.
He will be lovingly remembered by Sheryl, his wife of almost 64 years; children: Lisa and Kieran Maloney of Louisville, CO, Cynthia and Lionel Loza of Sherwood, OR, and Jennifer and Adam Niemur of Grand Haven, MI; his grandchildren: Henry Rowen Maloney, Jean Claude Daniel Loza, J.L. Arthur Loza, Elliott Michael Niemur, Thomas Randall Niemur, and Samuel August Niemur; and his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Darlene Tusch of San Marcos, TX.
He loved tennis, travel, music, especially big bands, playing cards, watching sports, and he loved to paint. He co-authored two books about local history with his brother.
Visitation will be Monday, December 19, 2022, from 1:00 pm-2:45 pm at First Reformed Church of Grandville, 3060 Wilson SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm also at the church. Interment will be in Forest Grove Cemetery.
