Grand Valley State split a basketball doubleheader at Ferris State last night. Paige Vanstee came off of the bench to score 15 points as the visiting Lakers won the women’s opener, 78-70. Ben Davidson had 29 points as the host Bulldogs won the men’s nightcap, 97-68. GVSU’s teams play Lake Superior State in Sault Ste. Marie tomorrow afternoon.
In state major-college basketball last night, Detroit beat Purdue Fort Wayne, 75-66, but Oakland lost to Cleveland State, 80-64.

Bojan Bogdanovic tossed in 30 points, but it was two triples by Killian Hayes in the last 1:15 of overtime that broke a 125-125 tie and lifted the Pistons past the visiting Dallas Mavericks last night, 131-125. Detroit hosts the Memphis Grizzlies at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday evening.
