LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 1, 2022) – Joblessness stayed steady along the Lakeshore in October.
In numbers released on Wednesday by the state Department of Technology, Management and Budget, unemployment in Ottawa County stood at three percent for October and at 3.2 percent in Allegan County, ranking them third and tied for fourth among Michigan’s 83 counties. Those numbers remained the same from September’s percentages, and are slightly lower than a year ago, when Ottawa County stood at 3.5 percent and Allegan County at 3.9 percent.
Statewide, department officials say that the Lakeshore was among 29 counties that saw no change in the jobless rate in October, with 31 counties had more people out of work, and 23 others had fewer people in data that is not seasonally adjusted.
