PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 14, 2022) – A Lakeshore community has said no to short-term rentals.
During last Thursday night’s monthly meeting, the Park Township Board of Trustees voted unanimously to lift a moratorium on a 1974 zoning ordinance that prohibited the establishment of Airbnb’s, Vrbo’s and other similar ventures in residential neighborhoods. The panel also agreed to set an October 1, 2023 deadline for current short-term rentals use to cease in the township.
Board Chairman Jim Gerard admitted the gravity of the situation.
Board Clerk Skip Keeter expressed the sentiments of his colleagues.
Many in the nearly full meeting room spoke on the matter, including current Holland City Council Member Nicki Arendshorst, who also owns property in the township.
