HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 12, 2022) – A 48-year-old Holland man lost his life in a two-vehicle Saturday evening crash involving a pick up truck and a mini-bike on Holland’s North Side.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Keith Biros, the man was piloting the mini-bike in the area of 96th Avenue near Ransom Street around 8:45 PM when he was struck by the pick up truck, driven by an 18-year-old Allendale man. “Investigation found the 48-year-old male driver of the mini-bike failed to yield to the pick up truck that was southbound on 96th Avenue,” Biros said in a department statement. “The mini-bike did not have headlights activated and entered 96th Avenue from private property.”
The unnamed mini-bike motorist was taken to “a local hospital,” according to Biros, where he succumbed to his injuries. The pick up driver and his two passengers, both 14-year-old boys from Zeeland, were not hurt.
The collision remains under investigation.
