Hope College’s Evan Thomas has been selected to the D3hoops.com Preseason All-America Teams.
The senior from Okemos, Michigan (Okemos HS) is one of 26 selections overall and one of five fourth-team honorees.
The 6-foot-4 Thomas returns to lead the Flying Dutchmen after averaging a career-high 19.6 points, 9.0 points and 1.3 steals per game during the 2021-22 season.
Thomas helped Hope claim MIAA regular-season and tournament titles last season before advancing to the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament and finishing with a 22-7 overall record.
Thomas was named MIAA MVP for the first time in his career as a junior.
The biology major scored in double figures 24 out of 28 games, including the final 20 in a row.
Thomas scored a career-high 36 points during an 81-78 win at Adrian College on January 19.
Off the court, Thomas was chosen to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honor Court in 2022.
Hope tips off the 2022-23 season on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 11-12, with home games at DeVos Fieldhouse against the University of Wisconsin-Stout and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
