She is survived by her husband of 61 years LaVerne “Vern” De Vries, her son Mike and Kathy De Vries, her sister-in-law Marcia Baker several nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Jr. and Minne Raak, Vern’s parents Willard and Reka De Vries, her sisters who both passed away on September 17, 2009, Clara Overzet and Ethel Van Ommen, and her brothers-in-law: Henry Overzet, Elwyn Van Ommen, Kenneth De Vries, and Lewis Baker.
Loie was a member of Community Reformed Church. She was an excellent seamstress. She and Vern attended several southern gospel concerts over the years. Loie’s shopping friend for many years was Sherry. She was an avid bible reader and lover of Christ and she very easily made friends.
Loie worked at many part-time jobs, notably at Zeeland Bakery and Buntes Pharmacy from where she retired.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thursday, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Friday, November 4, 2022, at Community Reformed Church, 10376 Felch Street, Zeeland. The inurnment will be in Zeeland Cemetery.
