Rolly proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church of Zeeland and was very involved, serving as an Elder, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher. Above all else, he loved his family, and it was important to him that they knew Jesus.
Rolly was preceded in death by his parents: Rhyne & Trena Hyma; brother, Russ Hyma; and siblings-in-law: Ken Frens, and Linda Hyma.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Cora (DeBoer) Hyma; daughters: Cathy & Jim Koetje, Joni & Henry DeLeeuw; grandchildren: Sara & Tim Muilenburg, Jeff & Jamie Koetje, Kim Koetje, Jill Koetje, Cristina & Evan Giles, Mark & Brooke DeLeeuw, David & Kelly DeLeeuw, Elizabeth & Nathan Brendle; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Joyce Frens, Lois & Lee VerHoeven, Bill & Jeanne Hyma, Don Hyma, and Martina Hyma.
A time of visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland. A funeral service honoring Rolly will follow at 2:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place at Lakewood Cemetery.
