Jan loved her Lord and Savior as evidenced by her worn Bible at her side and the emphasis she placed on telling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren about Jesus and His love for them. She dearly cherished her family. She helped her husband, Del, run their milk-hauling business for 42 years. She enjoyed hosting family for holiday get-togethers and parties. She loved seeing all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their many birthday parties or when they would come over to visit her. She enjoyed spending time fishing at her cottage on Silver Lake and loved that it also provided another gathering place for her family.
Jan was hard-working and gave 100% to her many passions. She had many passions and took pride in her home and yard: she loved decorating her home and spent many hours working in her beautiful yard. Jan also enjoyed collecting antiques, collectibles, and John Deere memorabilia with Del. She enjoyed combining her passion for collecting and her gift for hosting through years of sharing their home, museum, and cottage, with many people.
Jan was a long-time member at Beaverdam Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School and was involved with Mission Guild for many years. She spent a lot of time helping with the new building project there. Later in life, she became a member of Hudsonville Reformed Church and continued her passion for missions.
The Hoffman family would like to thank Hospice of Holland and the staff at Riley’s Grove Memory Care for their excellent and loving care of Janice.
