HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 19, 2022) – There are plenty of items for the Holland City Council to sift through during the Wednesday evening biweekly business meeting.
The Holland BPW has a number of issues that Council hopes to approve through a single vote on its consent agenda. This includes easements for electric distribution under Howard Avenue and Washington Boulevard, declaring material as surplus, beginning work on a disinfection improvement project at the water reclamation facility, and to complete work on the East Point Substation.
Some tax abatement proposals are also before the governing body. Koops Automation wants to build a 14,000 square-foot, two story office structure on its property off of Productions Place; Trigon Steel wants to add air conditioning and restroom facilities in its building off of Lincoln Avenue; West Michigan Plastics wants to construct a 13,000 square-foot building to go along with its current structure off of 143rd Avenue; and JR Automation wants to renovate a 107,000-plus square-foot building off of East 64th Street.
Also on the Council agenda: First reading of proposed amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance that were approved unanimously by the city’s planning commission; a proposal to sell nearly 19 acres of surplus land off of 64th Street near West Michigan Regional Airport to Koops Automation for $760,000; and to set in motion the construction process for the proposed city ice facility at Window on the Waterfront Park.
Council meets in Chambers at Holland City Hall (270 S River Ave.), beginning at 6 PM. An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
