Hope College setter Lauren Lee has been selected as the GameChanger Division III National Player of the Week.
The freshman from Plymouth, Michigan (Ann Arbor Skyline HS) is receiving the honor for the first time this season and her career.
Lee is the sixth Hope College volleyball player, and first since 2019, to receive this title:
- Jacie Fiedler (Oct. 19, 2010)
- Jenna Grasmeyer (Oct. 16, 2012)
- Courtney Earles (Oct. 22, 2013)
- Lauren Hazekamp (Oct. 7, 2014)
- McKenna Otto (Oct. 29, 2019)
Lee helped the Flying Dutch win all four of their matches this week and set a school record with 64 assists during a 25-21, 225-20, 21-25, 21-25, 15-11 victory at No. 24-ranked Tufts University (Mass.) on Saturday.
Lee passed the previous Hope record for assists in a match using a 25-point set of 63 that Greer Bratschie accomplished both vs. Alma College on September 6, 2011 and Elmhurst College (Ill.) on October 13, 2012.
For the week, Lee averaged 12.64 assists per set over 14 sets while setting up for a .310 hitting percentage against Saint Mary’s College, Endicott College (Mass.), Bates College (Maine) and Tufts.
Hope defeated Saint Mary’s, Endicott and Bates in three sets apiece.
