LAKESTOWN TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 7, 2022) – Who was the first female Laketown Township board member? How did a disc golf course end up across the road from a restored mansion and chapel?
Laketown Township has the answers with plenty more to come after the Laketown Oral History Project started on Monday, Oct. 3. The township is now interviewing and recording people who have knowledge, understanding and recollections of the area’s unique history.
Taking place in the library of the Felt Mansion, the audio and video recording is being coordinated by Fresh Look Video of Grand Rapids. The team will edit the
material and present the interviews on YouTube for public access. Interviews are being conducted by Jim Hayden, public information officer for the township.
If you, or someone you know, possesses knowledge and recollections about Laketown Township, organizers invite you and them to be a part of the project. Send the information including name, contact email or phone number and some background on the person to Patty@feltmansion.org or JimH@laketowntwp.org or call (616) 335-3050.
