HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 1, 2022) – A Saturday evening two-vehicle crash involving a sedan and a motorcycle on Holland’s North Side sent both drivers involved to the hospital.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Eric Westveer, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to Butternut Drive at West Mae Rose Drive, south of Riley Street, around 9:45 PM. That was where a 34-year-old Holland man, heading northbound on his motorcycle, “at a high rate of speed,” Westveer said in a department statement, collided with the southbound automobile, driven by a 48-year-old Holland man, who was attempting to turn left. The force of the collision threw the biker off of his machine.
The younger man was flown to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids with critical injuries, while the sedan driver was taken to Holland Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
No names were disclosed as the crash remains under investigation.
