HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 28, 2022) – The process of expanding municipal broadband access in the City of Holland will be discussed this evening.
During their biweekly study session that begins at 6 PM, members of the Holland City Council will meet with City Manager Keith Van Beek and other staffers to go over the next steps of the process, including issuing 30 million dollars in bonds, to be reimbursed in part through federal ARPA funds.
Council will vote on the matter at its regular business meeting next Wednesday.
In a related issue this evening, the panel will look over the city’s latest bond rating report from S&P Global, which gives Holland a AA/Stable grade over the next couple of years. The firm has the expectation that the city would maintain strong budgetary flexibility despite “very high debt levels and future debt plans.”
Council’s study session is in the second-floor training center at Holland City Hall (270 S. River Ave.). An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
