In a monthly look of not seasonally-adjusted unemployment rates in Michigan for August, Ottawa County was fourth among the 83 counties in the state at 3.1 percent, seven tenths of a percentage point higher than the pace-setting Livingston County, with Oakland and Mackinac counties in between. Allegan County was tied with Lapeer County for 8th at 3.4 percent.
