ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 19, 2022) – The Zeeland City Council doesn’t have much on its agenda for Monday night’s business meeting, but the work-study session beforehand looks at a couple of upcoming matters.
Abby DeRoo, the city’s Marketing Director, will go over with Mayor Kevin Klynstra and his council colleagues the six days of special events, scheduled to begin on October 2nd, commemorating Zeeland’s 175th anniversary celebration.
The events lead into the annual Pumpkinfest set for October 7th and 8th.
Council will also get an update on proposed downtown Main Avenue projects set to begin next spring, including the potential special assessments necessary for the infrastructure costs in installing snowmelt. Staff is looking to make a formal presentation on the matter next month.
The work-study session begins at 6 PM, with the business meeting an hour later, in Council Chambers at Zeeland City Hall (21 Elm Street). The agenda for tonight’s Council activities, along with accompanying documents, can be found here.
