LAKETOWN TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 16, 2022) –Volunteers put their hands and backs to work to help out Laketown Township on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, as part of the annual United Way of Ottawa and Allegan Counties Day of Caring.
Crews from EV Construction, 86 E. Sixth St., Holland, started the day at 8 a.m. at Laketown Beach, 6710 142 nd Ave. They trimmed vegetation along the path to the beach and shoveled sand off the lower level of the stairs to the Lake Michigan shore.
Volunteers from EV Construction, Huntington Bank and Haworth took the afternoon to clean up brush and debris in the organic blueberry field and pick weeds around the pavilion at Huyser Farm Park, 4188 64 th St.
During Day of Caring, volunteers and businesses around the area provide short- term service to area non-profit organizations.
