HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 10, 2022) – A 61-year-old Hudsonville man is expected to recover from injuries suffered when his bicycle was struck by a motor vehicle in his hometown on Saturday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matthew Wildfong, the unnamed cyclist was attempting to cross 32nd Avenue near Corporate Grove Drive, just south of the I-196 junction, shortly after 9 AM when he was hit by the southbound vehicle, driven by a 70-year-old Dorr woman. Apparently the man was not in a crosswalk, and the motorist was going through on a green light at that intersection.
The cyclist was taken to an undisclosed hospital with what was described only as non-life threatening injuries, while the motorist was not hurt. The incident remains under investigation.
