WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 31, 2022) – Voters went to the polls on August 2nd and cast absentee ballots across Michigan for the Primary Election, and although the results have been certified by canvassing boards on the state and county level, one last piece of work is needed.
A total of 10 separate audits are slated across Ottawa County after the Labor Day holiday. County Clerk and Register of Deeds Justin Roebuck explained in a recent appearance on “WHTC Talk of the Town.”
The Ottawa County election audit schedule is:
- Sept. 7 – 8 AM: City of Grand Haven (519 Washington)
- Sept. 7 – 11 AM: Spring Lake Township (101 S. Buchanan)
- Sept. 8 – 1 PM: City of Ferrysburg (17520 Ridge)
- Sept. 12 – 8 AM: City of Zeeland (14 Church)
- Sept. 12 – 10:30 AM: Zeeland Township (6582 Byron)
- Sept. 12 – 2 PM: Jamestown Township (2380 Riley)
- Sept. 13 – 8 AM: City of Holland (270 S. River)
- Sept. 13 – 10 AM: Holland Township (353 N. 120th)
- Sept. 14 – 11 AM: Olive Township (6480 136th)
- Sept. 14 – 2:30 PM: Park Township (52 152nd)
The public is invited to observe each audit.
In Ottawa County, a turnout of over 34 percent of registered voters cast nearly 77 thousand ballots, with 48 percent opting to skip the polling booth and submit absentee ballots. In Allegan County, almost 31 percent of registered voters cast just over 30 thousand ballots.
