HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 30, 2022) – Some strong storms that roared through the Lakeshore on Monday had some lasting effects.
Those storms, which came in mid to late afternoon carrying winds of around 70 miles per hour, caused considerable damage in the form of downed power lines and trees. The heaviest damage was on Holland’s North Side as well as in Allegan County, from Hamilton southeast to the Otsego-Plainwell area.
As of dawn, some 121 thousand Consumers Energy customers were without power statewide, with the most in this region coming east and north of Allegan. The utility is hoping to restore electricity to those affected by the end of Tuesday.
There were no reports of any injuries or fatalities as a result of this line of storms.
