GEORGETOWN TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 17, 2022) – A teen riding in a Jeep driven by a 17-year-old Kentwood man passed away at the scene after a two-vehicle crash east of Hudsonville on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Ryan DeVries, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to the intersection of 22nd Avenue and Jackson Street at 12:30 PM. That was where the westbound Jeep apparently drove through a stop sign and into the path of a southbound gravel truck, which couldn’t avoid a collision.
The Jeep driver and three other passengers in his vehicle were taken to an undisclosed “area hospital,” with their conditions ranging from serious to critical. The truck driver, a 62-year-old Byron Center man, was not hurt.
No names were immediately disclosed as the crash remains under investigation.
