HOLLAND, MI (WHTC AM/FM) – Police are investigating the report of a possible bathtub drowning in Holland Tuesday evening.
At approximately 7:00 p.m. the Holland Department of Public Safety Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a medical emergency at the Holland Women’s Mission at 356 Fairbanks.
Information received was that a one-year-old child was being given a bath and drowned in a bathtub in a resident’s room. When officers arrived, CPR was in progress.
Officers took over CPR and rushed the child out to the ambulance where firefighters and paramedics continued life saving efforts and transported the child to Holland Hospital. A short time later the child was transported to the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
The current medical condition of the child is unknown.
This incident is under investigation by detectives and Child Protective Services, and the Holland Department of Public Safety says no further information can be released at this time.
