HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC AM/FM) – The millage to keep the Patmos Library open in Ottawa County’s Jamestown Township will be back on the ballot in November after it was defeated in the August primary.
The library has received national attention since the primary due to the reason the millage was defeated. That reason is a few LGBTQ+ books that conservatives want removed because they could be read by kids.
Library officials say they won’t remove books and say the issue is up to parents.
A GoFundMe for the library has raised over $79,000.
