Arla was born in Holland, Michigan, on June 9, 1943, to Peter and Francis Hoving. She married Donald Carroll in 1962. They raised their two children in Olive Township and were active members of South Olive Christian Reformed Church. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Lois Hoving.
Arla enjoyed volunteering for Right to Life. Arla was also an active crafter, gardener, a South Olive pie-lady volunteer, and a never-ending church volunteer. She loved her South Olive Sisters in Christ friends with whom she camped at the Conference Grounds and attended Gaither concerts.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald, son Brian & Vicki Carroll, daughter Amy and Jay Joldersma, grandchildren: Sharayah Carroll, James Joldersma, April Joldersma, Cody Carroll, Tanner Carroll, Calli Carroll, Cooper Carroll; and seven great-grandchildren; brothers: Bob Hoving, Sherwood & Marcia Hoving, Loren, and Arla Hoving; sister-in-law Alice & Paul Pellegrom, and many extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, August 8, 2022, at South Olive Christian Reformed Church, 6425 120th Ave., Holland MI 49424. Visiting hours will be 9:00 am -10:45 am Monday prior to the funeral service.
Interment will be in Olive Twp. Cemetery.
