As an admirer of art, history, and music, he traveled the world with his husband and partner of almost 40 years, Charles Aschbrenner, who preceded him in death in 2016. “Live and let live” was his philosophy and his zest for life shined through his love and laughter with his family and friends. His compassion and loyalty for people guided him to advocate on behalf of the elderly and differently-abled. He was an avid collector of antiques and art glass since the mid-1950s, a hobby inspired by his grandmother, Margery Wallace Tracy. He was a life member of the MSU Alumni Association, Michigan State Employees Retirement Association, and the Grosvenor House Museum in Jonesville, Michigan.
Chris is survived by his sister, Carolyn Spencer of Jonesville, Michigan, his brother, Stuart (Diane) Spencer of Port Charlotte, Florida, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
