HOLLAND, MI (WHTC AM/FM) – Michigan Lottery officials say a Holland man was in disbelief when he got a notification informing him that he won a $100,000 prize in the $300,000,000 Diamond Riches Second Chance drawing.
43-year-old Darwyn Thomas won $100,000 after he was selected in a random drawing that took place July 21. He earned entries into the giveaway by scanning his non-winning $300,000,000 Diamond Riches tickets on the Michigan Lottery app.
“I scanned several non-winning $300,000,000 Diamond Riches tickets into the second chance promotion hoping to win a big prize,” said Thomas. “When I got a notification from the Lottery telling me I’d won the $100,000 top prize, I was in disbelief. It was an amazing feeling!”
Thomas recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. With his winnings, he plans to pay bills and then save the remainder.
