ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, MI (WHTC AM/FM) – An Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office deputy was able to get three men out of their severely damaged vehicle before it caught fire Friday afternoon.
Just before 5:30 p.m. a road patrol deputy came across a 2003 Honda Odyssey rolled over in the west ditch off 120th Ave just north of Winans Street in Robinson Township. The deputy quickly got the three out of vehicle before it started on fire.
Robinson Township Fire and Rescue responded and was able to put the fire out.
A 33-year-old male passenger from West Olive suffered minor injury and was treated and released. The 39-year-old male driver from West Olive and a 29-year-old male passenger from West Olive were uninjured. Police say all were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
120th Ave between Lake Michigan Drive and Winans Street was closed to one lane for an hour due to the investigation. This traffic crash remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
