City officials say not to worry about helicopter landing along Lake Macatawa waterfront Saturday

HOLLAND, MI (WHTC AM/FM) – Don’t be surprised if you see a helicopter flying over and landing in Holland tomorrow.

This Saturday, July 16, there will be a boating event on Lake Macatawa called “Rock the Coast”.  The event is a fundraiser, this year raising funds for Shields of Hope, a local non-profit organization.

The organizers submitted an application to the City of Holland, which was approved, to land a helicopter on the city owned vacant lot next to the Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant.

The landing is expected to occur around 11:00 a.m.

City officials issued a reminder to Holland residents and visitors that this is a planned and approved landing, to try and avoid questions or concerns during the event.
