WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC AM/FM) – A 35-year-old Georgetown Township man was arraigned Wednesday on assault charges after police say he stabbed a woman outside her home Monday evening.
Justin Devries is charged with Assault With Intent to Commit Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder and Felony Assault. His bond was set at $100,000.00 cash or surety, and he was remanded to the Ottawa County Jail.
At around 8:40 p.m. Monday the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a stabbing which just occurred in the 100 block of Baldwin Street in Georgetown Township.
Paramedics from the Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and began life saving efforts to a 30 year old female found outside of the residence with a puncture wound to her upper torso. She was stabilized and transported to a local hospital where she was treated and released.
Devries was taken into custody on scene without incident.
