ZEELAND, MI (WHTC AM/FM) – The Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area’s Board of Trustees recently elected three new members at their 2022 Annual Meeting.
Ed Amaya, Jasmine Irish, and Kolin Van Fossan are joining the board.
Ed Amaya is the President/Owner of Kenowa Industries and is an active volunteer and supporter of many community organizations. He presently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital and Vanderbilt Charter Academy. Ed, his wife Tina, and their family live in Holland.
Jasmine Irish is a community volunteer who has been actively involved with various local nonprofits. Jasmine holds a BA in Business Administration and Marketing from University of Notre Dame. She is presently a member of the Board of Directors of Resilience, and three committees at CFHZ. Jasmine and her husband Patrick have three young children and live in Holland.
Kolin Van Fossan is a senior at West Ottawa High School and serves on the Board as a youth trustee. He has been a member of the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) since 2020 and will serve as Chair of YAC for the 2022–2023 school year. The Youth Advisory Committee is a group of students from local area high schools who are responsible for reviewing funding requests and recommending grants for program that benefit our community’s youth.
In addition, a new slate of officers for the Board of Trustees was also elected during the Board’s annual meeting. Diane Kooiker will serve as Board Chair. She succeeds Deborah Sterken, who will become Past Chair. Tom Den Herder will serve as Chair-Elect, Scott Brooks will serve as Secretary, and Erin Zylman will serve as Treasurer.
