Vern was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He proudly served our country in the US Army serving in Fort Knox in the postal room. Vern was a member of First Reformed Church in Zeeland and worked for 37 years at Haworth in manufacturing. Vern will be remembered for his love of boating, camping, traveling, and playing the electric guitar at church.
Vern was preceded in passing by his parents, Theodore & Ida (Oster) Everding; sister, Alice & Emil Vanous; siblings-in-law: Bob Hadley, and Linda Evans.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Muriel (Klomp); children: Ken Everding, Brenda & Thomas Meengs, Sharon & Jason Vander West; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; siblings: Leonard & Linda Everding, Jolene Hadley, siblings-in-law: Janice & Harold Ortman, Jeff Evans, Lois Rowe; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service honoring Vern will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022, at West Drenthe Cemetery, 862 78th Avenue, Zeeland. A lunch reception will take place following the graveside service at First Reformed Church of Zeeland, 148 E. Central Ave. Memorial contributions may be given in Vern’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org.
