Barbara Jager

Barbara Jager age 83, of East Saugatuck, died in Christ Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
Barb was a lifelong member of the Christian Reformed Church, first in Drenthe and then in East Saugatuck. For over 20 years, Barbara worked in the kitchen of Holland Christian Schools, baking and making change. With her beloved husband of 60 years, Alvin, she volunteered in many settings including Vacation Bible School, Kids Hope, and disaster relief. Barb is lovingly remembered for her love of God, playing the piano, gardening, birding, reading, sewing, and knitting.
Barb is survived by her five children, Phil (Nancy), Paul (Pattie), Carolyn (Todd) DeKryger; Linda (Kurt) Weaver, and Sue (Paul) Rozeboom; twelve grandchildren, Raymond (Ashley), Valerie (Ethan), Karl (Jessica), Andrew (fiancé Paige), Matthew, Dena (Steve), Michelle (Duncan), Benjamin, Gabriel, Michael, Liesl, and Annemarie; and five great-grandchildren, Micah, Brynn, Elizabeth, Adalyn, Urijah; a brother-in-law and his wife, Terry and Judy Van Haitsma; siblings, Karen (Ken) Michmerhuizen, Russ (Connie) VanDam, Jan DeBoer, and Dave Smits; in-laws, John (Mary) Jager, Jason (Barb) Walters; and many nieces and nephews.
Barb is predeceased by her beloved husband, Alvin John; a sister, Rosemary Van Haitsma; and a brother-in-law, Randall DeBoer. As an in-law, she is predeceased by Joyce and Lawrence Brouwer, Rosella Walters, Donald, and Grace Jager, and Hermina and Roger Jacobs.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2022, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland with Reverend Sue A Rozeboom officiating. Burial will be in East Saugatuck Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Holland Christian Schools, World Renew, or Hospice of Holland.
