ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, June 10, 2022) – A 21-year-old motorcyclist is expected to recover from injuries suffered when his machine crashed with a semi west of Allendale on Friday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Christopher Dill, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to Lake Michigan Drive at 96th Avenue shortly after 10 AM. They found that the biker was eastbound on M-45 and had the right of way when the truck turned into his path, causing an unavoidable collision with the trailer.
The Allendale biker was helmeted and taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids in stable condition, while the trucker, a 22-year-old Fremont man, was not hurt.
The area was blocked off for the good part of an hour as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation.
