Brant Kym and Evan Maday Voted to CoSIDA Academic All-America® Baseball Team
Shortstop Brant Kym and center fielder Evan Maday closed their Hope College baseball careers with a championship season on the field and another stellar performance in the classroom.
Kym, a business and economics major, and Maday, a civil engineering major, join a proud group of Flying Dutchmen student-athletes to be voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America® Baseball Team for NCAA Division III.
Kym was voted to the first team as an infielder. Maday made the second team as an outfielder. Both recently graduate from Hope.
This marks the second time two Flying Dutchmen teammates were selected for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team® in the same season. Tom Bylsma and Randy Cutler both earned the honor in 1995.
Kym and Maday join previous Hope recipients in baseball: Landon Brower (2018), Cory Schmidt (2013), Michael Meeuwsen (1998), Mark Kuiper (1995, 1994), Bylsma (1986, 1985), and Cutler (1985, 1984).
SOFTBALL
Kaelin Callow Voted to CoSIDA Academic All-America® Softball Team
Kaelin Callow made her mark on the softball field and in the classroom at Hope College.
The first baseman and biology major joins a proud group of Flying Dutch student-athletes to be voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America® Softball Team. Callow, who recently graduated, received third-team honors as an infielder.
It is the 13th time a Hope softball student-athlete has received the Academic All-America® honor.
Callow follows previous recipients: Shay Pinhey (2019), Hayley Reitsma (2018), Julie Sobieski (2015), Laura Tjepkema (2013, 2012), Kylee Brouwer (2008), Kim Grotenhuis (2000), Laurie Byington (1996), Johanna Pscodna (1992), DeeAnn Knoll (1988, 1987), and Anne Hendrickson (1985).
