Ana Tucker Earns All-America Honors in Two Events at NCAA Championships

Hope College runner Ana Tucker clocked two All-America efforts and set a school record during the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships last week in Geneva, Ohio.
On Saturday, the junior broke her own school record in the 5,000 meters with a fifth-place effort of 16 minutes, 36.43 seconds. It was Tucker’s second All-America performance in the event after taking fourth in 2021.
On Thursday, Tucker placed eighth in the 10,000 meters with a run of 36:13.36.

Nick Hoffman Places 17th in the Nation in the 1,500 Meters

Hope College’s Nick Hoffman finished 17th in the nation during preliminaries for the 1,500 meters on Thursday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday in Geneva, Ohio.
Hoffman clocked a time of 3 minutes, 54.31 seconds during his heat.

BASEBALL

Baseball Lands Three on D3baseball.com All-Region Teams

Three members of the MIAA regular-season champion Hope College baseball team have earned all-region honors from D3baseball.com: center fielder Evan Maday, shortstop Brant Kym and starting pitcher Sean Hoey.

Maday is one of 14 first-team selections and one of three first-team outfielders in Region 7. Hoey and Kym are among 16 on Region 7’s second team.

More than 1,000 student-athletes were nominated by sports information directors across the country. D3baseball.com staff selected the all-region teams.

Stu Fritz Chosen as D3baseball.com Region 7 Coach of the Year

Hope College’s Stu Fritz has been selected as the D3baseball.com Region 7 Coach of the Year.

In his 29th season as head coach, Fritz guided the Flying Dutchmen to their 10th MIAA regular-season championship and a 28-10 overall record.

Fritz eclipsed Albion College’s Frank Joranko for second place among MIAA coaches with 10 league titles.

Hope’s 28 wins are tied for the third-most in a season during Fritz’s tenure.
