Howie was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He was a lifelong member of Maplewood Reformed Church and worked tirelessly for over 25 years at Herman Miller. After retiring, he enjoyed his time working at Dutch Village.
Howie could fix anything and loved working on projects around the house with his kids. He was always willing to provide a helping hand when needed. Howie will be remembered for the love of his family, his pets, and his motorcycle.
Howie was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary, in 2021; sister, Sharon (Rog) Vander Meulen; brother, Jim Pippel; and sister-in-law, Andy Pippel.
He is survived by his children: Kimberly Meyer, Brenda Hatcher, David (Renae) Pippel; grandchildren: Marshall Meyer, Pierce Meyer, Grant Hatcher, Mia Hatcher, Hudson Pippel, Reagan Pippel; and brother, Bob Pippel.
A funeral service honoring Howie will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Maplewood Reformed Church, 133 East 34th St. Holland. A time of visitation will take place Friday, the evening prior, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
