MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers took a tough loss on the road Monday night, falling to the Minnesota Twins 5-4.
Gio Urshela helped Minnesota walk off with the win after hitting an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Andrew Chafin took the loss after allowing the game-ending run. Jonathan Schoop homered and finished with a pair of hits in the losing effort.
The Tigers drop to 14-and-27 and send righty Beau Brieske to the mound tonight in game two of the series against the Twins. The opening pitch is scheduled for 7:40 p.m. EDT.
