Ruby Ellen Durham

Ruby Ellen (Greener) Durham, age 83 of Zeeland went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, May 19, 2022.

Ruby was born September 25, 1938, in Walcott, AK to Floyd and Margaret Greener. She married Trennis Durham on September 1, 1962. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Holland. Ruby had been employed at McDonald Douglas Aircraft and Sears. She enjoyed serving her family, friends, and her church, studying the bible and teaching the bible, animals, gardening, crocheting, and sewing.

She is survived by her daughter Kelly and Jerry Stephens; her grandsons and great-grandchildren: Thom Stephens, Joe Stephens (Jamison and Maxwell); her sister Brenda and Ron Rosenburg; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Faye and Eugene McClung, Peggy Durham, LaVonda Durham, Edna, and Jerry Cato, Linda and Leeman Shirrell, many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Trennis Lee Durham on May 1, 2013, her daughter Donna Gay in 1963; her parents Floyd and Margaret Greener; her parents-in-law Sylvia and Reeda Durham and her brothers-in-law Gerald Durham and Harold Durham.

Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The funeral service will be at 11 am Thursday, May 26, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Holland. Officiating Timothy Murdoch (former pastor of First Baptist Church of Holland) and assisting Pastor Ben Marx of First Baptist Church of Holland. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Holland or First Baptist Church of Holland for the Man-UP! Ministry (Man-Up! Ministry exists to provide transitional housing for men who desire to find freedom in Christ and to be reconciled to God, their neighbor, their community, and to themselves.
