GRAND HAVEN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 13, 2022) – Three persons were injured in a two-vehicle crash south of Grand Haven on Friday evening.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Keith Biros, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to Lake Michigan Drive at 144th Avenue around 6:30 PM. That was where an eastbound Lincoln MKX was attempting to turn left, but instead of waiting for traffic to fully clear, veered instead into the path of a westbound pickup truck, causing a head-on crash.
The 26-year-old man driving the Lincoln, along with a 33-year-old woman who was his passenger, both of whom are from Grand Haven, and the 72-year-old Grand Rapids man driving the pickup, were all taken to undisclosed hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Biros didn’t mention any names, nor did he disclosed the full extent of their ailments.
The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with any information is asked to contact Ottawa County Central Dispatch (800-249-0911) or Ottawa County Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT).
