GRAND HAVEN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 13, 2022) – A 39-year-old Grand Haven man has been arraigned on charges stemming from an alleged late Thursday night domestic assault at a residence south of the Ottawa County Seat.
According to Sheriff’s Sergeant James Douglas, deputies were dispatched to a Pinewood Drive address around 11:15 PM. They found a 17-year-old victim with a stab wound in the chest, and that person was taken to an undisclosed hospital in stable condition.
The suspect, Anthony Johnson, who reportedly was known to the victim, was located at the scene of the incident and was taken into custody without incident. He was arraigned on Friday in Grand Haven District Court and ordered held on three million dollars bond on an assault with intent to commit murder charge and a second-time habitual offender count. A preliminary hearing date was not immediately disclosed.
No other details of the matter were immediately disclosed by Douglas as the case remains under investigation.
