Loie had a passion for children. She loved them all. When she and Cliff were unable to have children, they selflessly reached out to Bethany Christian Services in hopes of adopting. They also participated in sponsoring 2 Laotian refugee families which became part of their own. As a member of both Hamilton Reformed and the Laotian Christian Reformed churches, she served by leading children in worship for 30 years. She spent much of her time babysitting numerous children for family and friends and volunteered for Kids Hope at Hamilton Elementary. Family vacations were also a treasured time for her to love on grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When not focused on children, Loie enjoyed making wedding cakes and serving in the church kitchen.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Cliff; children, Eric and Annalee Sale, Paula and Doug Vugteveen; grandchildren, John and Brittney Rich, Alex and Jessica Sale, Jenna Vugteveen, Nate Vugteveen; great-grandchildren, Easton, Brently, and Charlotte Sale; siblings, Mary Verburg, Earl and Arlene Kleinheksel, John and Ruth Stanley; sister-in-law, Virginia Kleinheksel; many nieces and nephews.
Beckie Huddleston was a close family friend that became like a daughter to Loie. She was Loie’s caregiver, for who the Sale family is forever grateful.
