Bob was born on April 2, 1950 to Arend and Gladys (Dys) Driesenga. He was raised in Beaverdam and was a lifelong member of Beaverdam Christian Reformed Church. Bob attended Beaverdam Christian School and graduated from Unity Christian High School in 1968. He served in the US Army from 1969 to 1971, serving in Vietnam in 1970. On September 29, 1972, he married his high school sweetheart, Thelma Schutte. They lived in Beaverdam, later moving back to the Driesenga farm, the home he grew up in. Bob worked for many years at the Zeeland Farmers Coop, and after the Coop closed, he became co-owner of B&D Polebarn to continue to serve the local farming community. He loved his Lord, his family, and his farm.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Arend & Gladys Driesenga; parents-in-law, Jay & Lucille Schutte; brother, Tommy Driesenga; sister, Lorraine (Driesenga) Elenbaas; and sisters-in-law: Judy Schutte and Ellen Driesenga.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Thelma; their children and grandchildren: Robin & Brent Lubbers (Logan, Maiah), Jeff & Tanya (Hall) Driesenga (Samantha & Trent Rhoderick, Benjamin Driesenga), Chad & Robin (Meekhof) Driesenga (Ava, Caleb); brothers and sisters: Howard & Von Driesenga, Esther Driesenga, Diane & Jack De Boer, Bette & Don Morren, Rog & Mary Schutte, Jerry & Barb Schutte, and Cal & Jan Schutte; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service honoring Bob will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Beaverdam Christian Reformed Church, 5166 64th Ave. Hudsonville, MI. A time of visitation will take place Wednesday, the evening prior, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland. Burial will take place at Beaverdam Cemetery.
