Mary Hoekstra, age 81, of Zeeland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April, 27th 2022.

In the years she was a stay-at-home mom, her family enjoyed vacationing in Florida. After returning to work in 1981, she and Jim both retired in 1998 and moved to their townhouse in Panama City Beach, FL. Returning to Michigan in 2005, they continued to enjoy winters in FL. And out West until Jim’s passing in 2008.

Mary is survived by: her two sons, Randy (grandchildren, Haley, Joel, Lindsay, and Savannah Hoekstra), and Eric (Renee Laura; grandchildren, Adam and Brianna); siblings, Lois Le Fleur and David Van Ostrom; in-laws, Laura (Ben) Cooper and Ruth Molenkamp; many nieces and nephews. Two nieces were especially close and helpful – Dep Behrendt Gumser (Mike) during Jim and Mary’s time spent in Zephyrhills 2016-18 and sister Dona DeNeff (Randy) both during Jim’s passing and Dona’s constant help and companionship during her time on Hospice.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Jeanette Van Ostrom; parents-in-law, Ted and Jennie Hoekstra; husband, Jim Hoekstra; brothers-in-law, Ted Hoekstra, George Hoekstra, Jack Kamp, Kenneth Behrendt, and Roland Molenkamp; sister-in-law, Florence Behrendt, Kathryn Kamp, and JoAnne Hoekstra; Nieces, Diane Behrendt and Terri Molenkamp; and nephew, Tommy Baker.
