David J. Reardon, age 80, of Holland, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022.
He was born to James and Eleanor Reardon in Salem, Massachusetts. David enlisted in the United States Air Force and faithfully served his country for a four-year enlistment. He was stationed at Selfridge Air Force base in Mt. Clemons where he met his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia (Hieftje). Mr. Reardon was employed by Meijer, Richs’ in Saugatuck and he retired from Tenant Corporation. He was known to be a jack of all trades, master of none but oftentimes better than master of one. He was everyone’s friend and had a love for people, especially his family. He enjoyed model trains and was a member of the American Legion. David was also a long-time member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Holland.
Mr. Reardon is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Reardon; daughter, Carrie (Chris) Veltkamp; son, Michael (Amy) Reardon; grandchildren, Manuel Zapata, Ariel (Justin) Olson, Carter Reardon, Caroline Reardon; two great-granddaughters, Gabriella & Jaelynn Olson; siblings, Janet Hackett and Robert Reardon.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 27, at the Dykstra Funeral Home – Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, April 28 at the Mulder Chapel with Deacon Brian Piecuch presiding. The United States Air Force and V.F.W. Post 2144 will bestow military honors at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the auspices of the Dykstra Funeral Home – Mulder Chapel.
