SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 14, 2022) – The City of Saugatuck, the City of Douglas, and Saugatuck Township will be holding their Annual Household Hazardous Waste collection event coming up on May 24th from 3-7pm at the City of Saugatuck Department of Public Works Building on Blue Star Highway. Residents must have an appointment to drop-off items. Registered participants will be required to drive into the DPW site from the Maple Street entrance and will need to show your Driver’s License to confirm you have an appointment.
Residents can drop-off all hazardous waste and automotive fluids for FREE. Examples include agricultural and landscaping chemicals, automotive fluids, cleaners and solvents, building and remodeling materials, household batteries, and other miscellaneous substances. Residents can also dispose most electronic items for free
There will be a fee charged for certain items such as televisions, computer monitors, car batteries and small A/C units and dehumidifiers containing freon. Items that will not be accepted include latex and acrylic paint, major appliances, microwave ovens, tires, trash, and debris.
